Shipping chocolate, nougat and caramel gets much less whimsical during warm weather months. From June through September we need to ship your candy in an insulated shipper with cold packs to make sure that the product gets to you in the same condition it left our kitchen. A charge of $12.00 for the additional packaging will be added to your shipping quote when you check-out. The shippers are styrofoam -- not our favorite -- so please do try to re-use or recycle them. The good thing is that with the styrofoam and ice, we can ship to you using Home Delivery or Ground service even in summer, avoiding the much higher expense of Overnight service. We make every effort to ship product to you within four days of your order. If it will be longer, we will contact you via e-mail to advise you of the ship date. Depending on where you live, we will time shipment so that your package does not sit at FedEx over the weekend where the temperature could damage the product. We have received e-mails asking about the price of shipping. We know it is expensive! Fed Ex is a dependable service and our best option, but yes, it can be expensive, particularly if you live in a rural location and the Fed Ex Home Delivery truck has to drive a couple of hours to get your candy to you. Note that it is less expensive to ship to a commercial address than to a residential address so if you can ship to your work (not a home office), select Fed Ex Ground to save a few dollars. |
